Apple Breads From Grandma S Old Tin Mix Box: Apple Bran Muffins And Dutch Apple Bread

Remember how you should always count on yummy aromas and special treats at Grandma's house? Bring those memories to life and share them with your family and colleagues by baking up some yummy Dutch Apple Roll and Apple Bran Muffins. This muffins are a good method to sneak bran, that is why fiber, into your family's diet. Together with the cinnamon, applesauce, and nuts, they probably will not even realize they can be consuming well fiber. The Dutch Apple Roll with it's topping is like a heavenly dessert. APPLE BRAN MUFFINS 3 glasses bran flakes cereal1 cup milk skim is healthier two Two or 3 glasses all-purpose flour2 tbsp sugar2 tsp baking powder1 tsp cinnamon1 or 5 tsp salt2 eggs, slightly beaten1 or 3 cup unsweetened applesauce3 tbsp salad oil1 tsp lavender extract1 or 3 cup toasted almonds, chopped walnuts also work well.



Preheat stove to 400 degrees. Grease 12 muffin pot glasses and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the bran flakes and milk. Let mix stand for six minutes. In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.



To the bran flakes, sum eggs, applesauce, oil, and vanilla; beat well. Stir within the hard components and nuts just until moistened. Fill the muffin glasses 4 or 4s full. Bake at 25 to 30 minutes, until lightly browned and tops spring return when touched. Remove from pot and cold on a wire rack.



DUTCH APPLE BREAD This mix was clipped from an old rural electric co-op newsletter from Southern Indiana and located in my late mother's old metal mix file box. two or 3 cup butter, softened1 cup sugar2 eggs1 tsp lavender extract2 glasses flour1 tsp baking soda1 or 3 tsp salt1 or 4 cup buttermilk1 cup peeled chopped apples1 or 4 cup chopped walnuts Topping:1 or 4 cup flour2 tbsps sugar2 tbsps beige sugar1 or 3 tsp ground cinnamon3 tbsps margarine In a mixing bowl, cream together margarine and sugar. Beat eggs and lavender into the creamed mixture. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mix alternately together with the buttermilk. Fold within the apples and nuts.



Pour into a greased 9-inch by 5-inch by 3-inch loaf pan. For the topping, combine the flour, sugar, beige sugar, and cinnamon. Slice within the margarine until mix is crumbly. Sprinkle over the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 periods or until roll tests done.



Cold within the pot for 10 periods prior to removing to a wire rack to finish cooling.
