Enjoy These Old-fashion Summertime Desserts: Bee Chaser S Ice Cream And Summertime Iced Crate Pie

Summertime and the living is easy. and old-fashion desserts are still wonderfully tasty treats! For a yummy ice cream treat try my late mother's Bee Chaser's Ice Cream. This ice cream is sure to please and it gets its interesting name from the honey that is a primary ingredient. The Iced Crate Pie is an old mix from 1050s Oklahoma. The name iced crate is a clue to age of this recipe.

SUMMERTIME ICED BOX PIE This is an old mix from 1950s-60s Oklahoma. 2 eggs1 cup sweetener two Two or 3 glasses pineapple1 or 5 tsp salt1 two or 3 tiny pkg strawberry gelatin1 standard volume can evaporated milk, chilled and whipped. In a heavy saucepan combine together the eggs, pineapple, sugar, and salt. Bake over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until the mix returns to a boil.

Sum the gelatin, stirring to dissolve. Let the mix to cold then fold within the whipped milk. Pour the mix evenly into the 4 crumb crusts. Chill until firm prior to cutting to serve. To slice return on sweetener you can modernize this mix by substituting Splenda Sweetener Blend for the sugar.
