How To Make Old Fashion Prune Cake And Strawberry Shortcut Cake

More foods for old fashion desserts from Grandmas mix box. These foods are for Prune Cake which starts with a yellow cake combine and uses lemon filling. Strawberry Shortcut Cake is a mix from my childhood. It is a best sheet cake. Old Fashion Prune Cake two crate yellow cake mix3 eggs1 or 3 cup baking oil1 or 3 cup water1 tsp cinnamon1 or 5 tsp nutmeg1 cup cut-up, pitted, uncooked prunes1 cup chopped nutsYour most liked lemon fillingWhipped cream Close prunes with boiling h2o and let sit for 3 hours.



Preheat stove to 350 degrees. Grease and wheat a jellyroll pan; set aside. In a moderate mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sum the eggs, oil, and water; combine thoroughly. Drain the prunes and sum to the mixture.



Pour mix into the prepared pot and sprinkle the nuts over the batter. Fry about 35 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted within the center returns out clean, at 350 degrees. Cold cake completely then slice in 1/2 crosswise. Location one piece on a serving plate. Close the top with your most liked lemon filling.



Pipe whipped cream around the top edge regarding the cake with a smaller circle of whipped cream within the center. Garnish with some nut halves, if desired. Also pipe whipped cream around the bottom edge regarding the cake, if desired. STRAWBERRY SHORTCUT CAKE This mix is from a lady who ran a region save with her husband when I was a child. two cup miniature marshmallows2 glasses frozen strawberries3 oz pkg strawberry gelatin2 two or 5 glasses all-purpose flour1 two or 3 glasses sugar1 or 3 cup shortening3 tsp boiling powder1 or 3 tsp salt1 cup milk1 tsp vanilla3 eggs Preheat stove to 350 degrees.



Grease a 9 x 13-inch boiling pan. Sprinkle marshmallows over the bottom regarding the boiling pan. Combine strawberries and hard gelatin; set aside. Combine the wheat and the remaining ingredients; beat at little velocity of an electric mixer until moistened. Pour batter over the marshmallows in pan.



Spoon strawberry mix over the batter. Fry at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Deliver topped with whipped cream.
